This section assumes you've got a few items in your database. (Otherwise you'll having nothing to search sort or group) From the main menu select 'All Items'. This brings up a list of all items in your database.

To search for an item place the cursor inside the Part No. box and type a couple of characters. In our example you can see we've got a few Part Numbers starting with 'C'. If you placed the cursor into the Part No. box and pressed the 'C' key on your keyboard all parts NOT beginning with C would be removed from the list and as you type more rows are excluded until you're left with the one (or ones) you're looking for.

You can also search on Description and you can also use a wild card character. In our example imagine we were looking for a 'spring' we'd type the * star symbol followed by 'spring' (without quotes) into the description field and click 'Go'. This would remove all rows where the word 'spring' does not appear in the description.
