Assemblies and Parts Lists.

An assembly is an item which exists in your inventory which is assembled using other parts from within your inventory.

The Parts List shows which parts from your inventory are required to build the assembly.

miniMRP - Parts List Manager makes it simple to create and maintain the relationships between these Assemblies and the parts they contain.

If you're following the tutorial all we've done so far is to create simple components. Now it's time to make an Assembly.

First you need to create the assembly. The first steps to creating an assembly are exactly the same as for every other item and the new part is created with the default category of 'NEW' and then, once it's created, you then need to change the category to 'AS'.

If you wish you can refer back to the first section of the tutorial which explained how to create a new item and then by editing the item's detail you change the category to "AS".

Once you've created your Assembly in the inventory you can move on to the next stage where you add items to the assembly's Parts List.
